PR, SEO and P2P... The big debate.

Apologies everyone for the radio silence since the glory of the 1st P2PR meet. The work load of the last few weeks has got the better of me. Anyway I'm back at least for now. Before I start this post I just want to say thanks for all the support and involvement in making the event happen. We did take some video and pictures but decided to not put it up here as you all looked awful! Joke.

Now onto business.

I got involved in a pretty interesting debate last night on Twitter with @timhoang @andi… Continue

My outtake from the first P2PR Meet.

It was great to meet everyone last night with some interesting debate touched upon to be expanded upon. For those that couldn't attend I thought I would give my take on it all with a quick summary. If you think I missed something or heaven forbid you disagree you know what to do!

Have purpose

We are all fairly time-poor people. So nobody needs another community to cover old ground, replicate what's happening else where, or be just another networking tool. So P2PR needs to have a… Continue

When is campaign advocation spam?

If it’s wrong to spam. Which it is. Then is, as a web marketer, getting other people to in affect spam wrong? My gut says well if it’s not relevant then yes spam is spam. But if it’s relevant even if it was by 70/30 chance then is it still spam. The proof is in the pudding and if the community doesn’t get pissed off I guess not right? But I still feel uncomfortable. Let’s explore…

OK you purists out there will be telling me this kind of activity is second rate and brands should be doing more ex… Continue

Online PR agencies get social!

A lot of online pr agencies don't practice what they preach. They are closed insular and siloed. Rather than add to the value of the network they just take what they can and keep tight lipped.

It's a gold rush sure. And you've got a head start. If you just keep your head down and don't share what you know the others can't keep up.

Wrong. If you just go back to what you preach; the power of the network is far greater than the individual. Don't forget there are far more who are well healed in WO… Continue

What's it all about

Due to popular demand I thought we all needed a place to talk P2PR.

Peer-2-Peer Relations as far as I am aware was coined in a discussion thread on David Cushman's Faster Future Blog when we were trying to unravel a nomenclature for the evolution of online PR. Well the conversation has only just begun.

If my Tweetbeep alert's are anything to go by there is… Continue

Thanks so much! It was an honour to be nominated and I already know that the charity I'd support is Macmillian Cancer Nurses so I'm eager to be a part of it :-)

Hi Jamie,

I have a PR position with my company that is available - how would be the best way to let the members know of this role?

Thanks,

Hi Jamie,

I'm interested in what you guys use this site for. I'm quite new to the PR game, having only worked agency side for about four months but with almost two years experience on a client side. I suppose I'm looking to expand my horizons and see what other 'PRs' get up to!
